BRT-V490 is an electronic delay-off timer module which is to be used together with a traditional mechanical ON/OFF switch and enable it to have automatic delay-off timer function. Designed for easy installation and retrofit, it directly sits behind the traditional switch panel and fitsinto a standard wall box.

BRT-V490 Electronic Delay-off Timer Module can be used together with a traditional mechanical switch for automatically turning off various loads such as fans and lights. Typical application scenes include:
1. Exhaust Fan delay-off control: When using BRT-V490 in kitchen or washroom, the user can set the delay time according to the ventilation need for the site so that the power is automatically turned off after the odor or moisture is cleared out.
2. Lighting: When lighting is controlled by a traditional mechanical switch, sometimes there is a safety concern because the light is always immediately turned off. With BRT-V490 installed behind a traditional mechanical switch, the user can always exit an area with peace of mind because of the delay-off feature.
Wiring Diagram and Installation Guide:
As shown in Fig. 1, BRT-V490 Electronic Delay-off Timer Module only requires two wires for installation. Its two lead wires connect to ACL and load respectively
Hot wire (Lin): Coming in from the power line ACL with 220V; and
Load wire (Lout): Going out to the load and then ACN.
The two screw blocks in the middle are for connecting to a mechanical switch.
Warning: Please make sure power is turned off before starting installation!
Fig. 2 shows the step-by-step installation instructions. There are four easy steps:
Step one: Use a screwdriver to pry off the front plate of the mechanical switch;
Step two: Wiring according to the diagram and the labelled ports of the switch;
Step three: Rotate the tuning screw using a screw driver to set delay off time as desired as shown in Fig. 3; and
Step four: Install the switch to the wall box using screws and put back the front plate.
